2013 Olympia area high school graduates playing collegiate athletics

With the college sports season almost upon us, here is an incomplete list of 2013 Olympia area high school graduates that are moving on to play collegiate athletics. Like I said, this is incomplete because I am sure that I am missing people. For example, I can’t believe just one athlete from River Ridge is going to play collegiately this season.

So if you know of someone that I missed or perhaps I have some bad information on somebody listed, please either email me at olysportsblog@gmail.com or leave a comment.

Parker, the Cascade Conference Defensive Player of the Year and All-Cascade Conference first teamer in the 2002-2003 season, has been a star in Japan spending the last two seasons with Shimane and four seasons before that with Rizing Fukuoka. He led the bj-league in scoring four times and steals five times. Karp lives! Skateland’s final superfly

Today I heard one of my favorite songs from a local band: “Connect 5” by the late, great Karp. It tells the story of Skateland’s final superfly, Bobby Fever. This has to be the theme song for a men’s roller derby team in town, right? Enjoy…

It wasn’t the Tumwater band’s only local sports themed creation: they named their first album “Tumwater T-Birds”. As you can see in this clip from the Karp documentary “Kill All Redneck Pricks”, it was not lovingly titled…

While we are at it and since it is Lakefair…

Karp lives!
