Down by three at the half, Evergreen used a 16-3 run capped off by a Sammi Clark three at the 14:30 mark to build an 11 point lead. Northwest University stormed back and held a two point lead before a pair of Clark free throws tied the game and another pair of Justina Laney free throws gave the Geoducks the lead back for good and they held on to a 69-61 Cascade Conference win over Northwest University in Kirkland.
Clark finished with 17 points, mostly from the line where she was 9-of-10, and Sadee Jones poured in 17 points of her own. Brittany Gray and Jessica Denmon each approached a double-double with 12 points, nine rebounds and 10 points, eight boards respectively.
The Geoducks moved to 2-3 in the CCC and back to .500 overall at 6-6. They will play host to Southern Oregon on Friday at 5:30 PM.

Maria Jesse and LaKeisha Anger each recorded double-doubles in South Puget Sound’s 77-61 win over Green River at the SPSCC gym on Saturday afternoon. Jesse led the way with 23 points and 16 boards while Anger added 20 points and grabbed ten rebounds as the Clippers picked up their first NWAACC West win of the season and just their second win overall.
Ashley Stancil and Wakeena De La Cruz chipped in 11 and 10 point respectively and Sofia Guerra collected 12 rebounds and handed out six assists in the win.

One bad quarter doomed the Bears turning a one point halftime deficit to a 37-29 hole after three. Khalil Matheney led Oly with 15 points and Max Fortier added 10 in the loss. Bobby Moorehead scored 23 points for the Tigers.

Taylor Sauls hit a buzzer beating three pointer and Black Hills stayed unbeaten in the 2A EvCo with a thrilling 62-61 comeback win over River Ridge. The game winner was the second three pointer in the last ten seconds for Sauls, who finished with 17 points to lead the Wolves while Nicole Nurmi and Sarah McGee scored 13 and 10 points in the win.
Mackenna Schultz led River Ridge with 17 points and Jazzlynn Brewster added 12 as the Hawks fell to 1-2 in the 2A EvCo. Black Hills improved to 3-0, but they have yet to face superpower WF West while River Ridge has already lost to them once.

The highlight of the night comes at 6:00 when Black Hills hosts River Ridge in a key battle between two of the top teams in the 2A EvCo. Both teams sit at 7-1 overall this season but the Wolves have a game advantage in the conference standings after River Ridge fell to superpower WF West in December. River Ridge was ranked #5 and Black Hills was was ranked #6 in 2A in the last Seattle Times girls basketball rankings.

Donaven Dorsey scored 26 points with eight rebounds in Timberline’s 55-44 win over Beaverton in the 9:00 AM game of the Les Schwab Invitational in Hillsboro, Oregon.
The Beavers held a 24-20 halftime lead but the Blazers turned it up in the second half with 35 points including a reverse slam off of a steal by Dorsey to open the fourth quarter.
Timberline will next face Central Catholic at 11:30 on Sunday morning at Liberty High School in Hillsboro. The Rams knocked off South Eugene in the 10:30 game, 62-51.

Timberline’s Donaven Dorsey struggled from the field shooting just 6-for-21 finishing with 16 points as Portland’s Jesuit led nearly the entire game in an easy 55-41 win at the elite Les Schwab Invitational in Hillsboro on Friday afternoon.
Dorsey collected seven rebounds and had five steals in the loss. Jack Nadelhoffer led the way for Jesuit with 22 points and pulled down 10 boards for Jesuit.
The Blazers will face Beaverton, who lost to Bishop Gorman today, at 9:00 AM on Saturday morning.

Dre Taylor had his second 20 point game as a member of the Geoducks in as many games and Evergreen nearly made a comeback but faltered in the end and dropped their tenth game of the year, a 68-55 loss to Northwest Christian in Eugene. KJ Hong hit a three pointer with just under ten minutes left to cut the Beacons lead to one point but Northwest Christian went on a 13-2 run after that and cruised to the win.
