Today (2/27): Saints Host Vikings to Open Final Weekend
Men’s basketball
Saint Martin’s vs. Western Washington – Marcus Pavilion – 7:00 PM
Two games remain for five Saint Martin’s seniors – Evan Coulter, Rei Jensen, Kyle Karnofski, Brad Norman and Matt Dodson – and they have a tough test tonight when Black Hills grad Anye Turner and Western Washington hit Marcus Pavilion for a 7:00 PM tip.
The Saints are 5-11, good enough for eighth place ahead of Simon Fraser and Northwest Nazarene. SMU was picked to finish last in the conference this season and are led by Coulter’s 15.7 and junior Ryan Rogers’ 14.5 points per game.
Western Washington sits at 12-4 in the GNAC, one game behind first place Seattle Pacific, and 18-6 overall. Turner has started 21 of their 24 games and is averaging 9.4 points per game and 7.6 rebounds per game and is one of the most electric forwards in the GNAC. The Vikings are led by Austin Bragg and Richard Woodworth. They are scoring 17.8 and 17.4 points per game respectively.
If you can’t make it to the Pavilion tonight, the game can be seen and heard with me, Brandon Sparks, on the call by clicking here.
