2A State Tournament First Round
Sumner 6, Black Hills 0

Black Hills drew the short end of the stick in the first round of the 2A state tournament when they traveled to Sumner to take on the defending state champion Spartans, the number #2 seed out of District 3 with a 14-2-1 record and had outscored their opponents 94-5.

Sumner scored 90 seconds in and poured it on all game long to end the Wolves season, 6-0. The Wolves finished the season at 16-3-1.

According to Tim Martinez of The Columbian, with losses by Ridgefield, Black Hills and Hockinson yesterday and today, District 4 teams are now just 1-23 in the first round of the state tournament since 2006.

Montana Tech 66, Evergreen 58 – Recap

Jessica Denmon and Sadee Jones each scored 14 points but it wasn’t enough for the Geoducks in their 66-58 loss to Montana Tech at the CRC Gymnasium at Evergreen.
