Shelton’s Ralph Kinne appeared to score the go ahead touchdown with three minutes remaining in the game but a North Thurston defender ripped the ball loose and fell on the ball in the end zone. After a discussion, the officials ruled that Kinne fumbled and the Rams took over on the 20 yard line and ran out the clock with a pair of first downs to take home the 21-20 victory in a battle of undefeated 3A Narrows League rivals.
Deshon Bell scored two touchdowns for the Highclimbers, the first a ten yard run to open the scoring in the first quarter and a 60 yarder in the second quarter. Ralph Kinne also scored on a 64 yard touchdown run and finished with 190 yards.
But with every big run Shelton produced, the Rams fought back with long drives. Mo Manning scored once for the Rams and Bobby Cervantes also scored on an end around play. The final touchdown was scored in the second quarter on a one yard run that Shelton defenders thought that they had recovered a fumble on the play.
With the win, the Rams move to 6-1 overall and 4-0 in the 3A Narrows League and will take on fellow undefeated Narrows League rival Timberline. The Highclimbers fall to 6-1 and 3-1 in league. They next get 0-7 Mount Tahoma before a final week matchup with Timberline.

Capital handed Black Hills their only league loss so far with a 5-3 win in a penalty kick shootout following a 2-2 draw on September 22nd. The Cougars are coming off of a non-league loss to Hockinson on Thursday while the Wolves cruised to a 7-1 win over Centralia.
Today (10/4): Saints hope to blackout Billings
The Saint Martin’svolleyball team returns to action tonight at Marcus Pavilion to take on Montana-State Billings at 7:00 PM. The Saints are currently in sixth place in the GNAC at 2-2, a half game behind the 3-2 Yellowjackets.
Saint Martin’s is coming off a split on the road last weekend. Nationally ranked Western Washington dispatched the Saints in straight sets on Thursday night and it looked bleak on Saturday down two sets to Simon Fraser, but the Saints rallied and pulled off a comeback victory in Burnaby, British Columbia to run their overall record to 4-5. Tonight’s game is just the third home game of the season for the Saints.
MSU-Billings has won six of the last eight matches but saw their three game winning steak come to an end in a thrilling three set match that went to extra points in each, 24-26, 29-31, 28-30. The Yellowjackets are 6-7 overall.
