Eastside Catholic 5, Timberline 1

Rick Ahlf went 3-for-4 and Matt Mercer got the win in Timberline’s 5-0 win over West Seattle in the opening round of the 3A state playoffs. In the quarterfinals, the Rams took a 3-0 lead in the fourth inning but Sumner answered right back with four runs in the fifth inning and added another in the seventh. Down 5-3, North Thurston scored a run in the bottom half of the inning but Spencer Dorsey was thrown out at the plate trying to score on a passed ball and the Rams season came to a heartbreaking end.
