Week 2: My 4 year-old’s football picks
Last week, my four year-old daughter went 4-4 with her picks including her bold prediction that the Shelton Highclimbers would cut down the Tumwater T-Birds nests. Good pick, kid.

Week two of the football season features two very compelling games in town: the annual Spaghetti Bowl between #1 ranked Capital and a reeling Olympia team and the crosstown matchup between 1-0 Timberline and 0-1 Tumwater. Blake Moreland’s goal in the 44th minute proved to be the game-winner as the Saint Martin’s men’s soccer team became the first Olympia area college fall sports team to earn a win with their 3-0 defeat of Colorado Christian. Dylan Gaydosh scored twice, 30 seconds apart, early in the second half to cement the victory.

Tonight (8/31): Geoducks volleyball; Football season is a go
The Evergreen volleyball team opens up Cascade Collegiate Conference play tonight when they face Eastern Oregon at the CRC Gymnasium at 7:00 PM. Eastern comes into the game at 6-2 already on the season including a 4-1 record in the Cascade/Frontier Challenge over the weekend. Meanwhile, the Geoducks are 0-5 and are still looking for their first win under head coach Greg Spector.
