Big game in the 3A Narrows League today when Shelton visits North Thurston at 4:00 PM. Both teams are undefeated in conference play but Shelton sits at 7-0 while the Rams are a game back at 6-0.

Probable starters for today’s game between these two teams with outstanding pitching staffs are Ryan Mets or Riley Stordahl for the Rams and Wazzu bound Jared Welander for the Highclimbers.

Today (4/11): #23 Saints host important GNAC doubleheader

College softball

Saint Martin’s vs. Western Oregon (DH) – Saints Softball Field – 2:00 PM

The #23 ranked Division II softball team in the nation returns to GNAC play this afternoon when Saint Martin’s hosts Western Oregon today.

The Saints currently sit in second place at 8-4 in the GNAC behind Simon Fraser and one game ahead of Western Oregon.

Both teams just returned from Turlock, California where the Saints went 6-1 and took second place at the Tournament of Champions. The Wolves struggled in the tourney and finished just 2-4.

Northwest Christian scored the first nine runs of the game and despite giving up six runs over the last two innings, the Navigators held on for a 10-6 league win over Wishkah Valley. Nick Kosierowski and Mason Stottlemeyer each drove in two runs and Matt Thomas picked up the win.

Tyler Ridgeway pitched another gem on the mound and drove in three runs at the plate and North Thurston continued to terrorize the Tacoma schools with a 6-0 win over Wilson. The Rams gave up just two hits on the day and have allowed just seven hits over their last six games and have outscored their opponents 73-2.

After Timberline took a 7-0 lead, Wilson tacked on a run in the sixth inning and then made a furious comeback in the seventh to cut the lead to just one run. But the Blazers stopped them there and held on to a 7-6 league win. Krista Ellie Jones and Aundrea Temple each homered in the win.

Olympia scored six runs in the top of the sixth inning to break a one all deadlock and give the Bears a 5-1 win over Central Kitsap in Silverdale. Adrianna Rupright drove in three runs and Maddy Stensby picked up the win.

Shelton took a 4-1 lead but North Thurston scored one run in the fifth inning and put a seven spot on the board in the sixth to complete the comeback and give the Rams a 9-4 win over the Highclimbers. Alicia Feliciano went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBI for the Rams.

After playing to a 1-1 halftime tie, Kile Lenherr scored the eventual game winner early in the second half and Tumwater knocked off Centralia 4-1 at Tumwater Stadium. Connor Sigmon scored twice for the T-Birds, the first an equalizer in the first half and another to extend their lead to 3-1 in the second half as the T-Birds scored four goals unanswered after Centralia opened the scoring. Tumwater moved to 2-2 in the 2A EvCo while Centralia dropped their first game of the conference season.

North Thurston scored 14 runs in the top of the first inning including a Dominique Greeno grand slam and the Rams didn’t allow a hit over five innings in their 14-0 win over Lincoln in Tacoma. Greeno drove in seven runs in total as the Rams pounded out 19 hits. Annie Koehler struck out six Abes in the win.

Matty Thomas gave up just one hit and struck out 12 and Northwest Christian whomped Mary M Knight 17-1 in Matlock.

Northwest Christian scored twice in the top of the sixth inning to break a 5-5 tie and held on for a 8-6 win over Lake Quinault in Amanda Park. Kenton Boogerd went 2-for-4 with two RBI and Mason Stottlemeyer drove in a pair of runs. Matt Thomas picked up the win for the Navigators.

Leif Hansen gave up just five hits and an earned run over six innings in Olympia’s 10-4 Narrows League opener win over South Kitsap at Crandall Field. Elliott Loague went 2-for-3 with a home run as the Bears offense put up four runs in the first inning and six more in the third.

Tumwater scored nine runs in the first two innings and Elijah Hill pitched four shutout innings to lead the T-Birds to a 10-2 win over Capital. The T-Birds are now 3-2 in the 2A EvCo and the Cougars fell to 2-2.

Maddy Stensby and Nikki Schroeder combined to drive in all four runs in Olympia’s 4-2 win over non-league foe Wilson. Stensby also picked up the win for the Bears.
