Coaching vacancies: Tafoya out at Timberline; Summers at Black Hills

Tafoya will remain a teacher at Timberline and his reason for leaving basketball is to focus more on his teaching duties. the Blazers went 7-12 overall and just 1-8 in the 3A Narrows League this season.

Timberline is the second Olympia area school with a boys basketball coaching vacancy. Jamie Berg resigned as head coach at Black Hills last month.

Also last week, Meg Wochnick reported that Black Hills girls soccer coach Lisa Summers stepped down. Summers coached the Wolves in 14 of their 15 seasons and led them to their best record this last fall.
