Saint Martin’s 60, UPS 56 – Recap from SMUSaints.com
Northwest Indian College 54, SPSCC 36
Brooke Paulson hit a free throw to tie the game at 49 with 3.5 seconds left in regulation and a pair of three pointers from Jori Skorpik and Angela Gelhar in overtime helped Saint Martin’s secure a 60-56 win over UPS at Marcus Pavilion.
Chelsea Haskey led the way for the Saints with 18 points and 15 rebounds and Mackenzie Taylor added 14 points and 14 boards. Brooke Paulson went just 2-for-16 from the field but her seven free throws helped the Saints down the stretch and gave her 11 points on the game. Skorpik hit two big three pointers, the first at the end of the first half to give the Saints a 29-28 lead going into the locker room and another in overtime and finished with eight points and pulled down 10 rebounds.
Kelsey McKinnis led the Loggers with 17 points, just under her season average of 18.3, as the Saints stout defense limited her touches throughout the game. But following a timeout, McKinnis received the inbounds pass and took it straight to the basket to put the Loggers up 49-48 with 6.8 seconds to play.
The Saints move to 7-5 overall this season and are now 5-0 at home.
