Nick Schultz (Centralia College) scored the game winning run in the bottom of the ninth inning to give the West Olympia Linx a 4-3 win over the Tumwater Brewers. Schultz went 3-for-4, drove in a run and scored twice and Jake Ross (Tacoma CC) collected two hits in the win.

Jeremy Camacho (River Ridge HS) singled in the game tying run and Kano Shota (Olympic College) doubled in the eventual game winner minutes later as the Nisqually Silvers scored five runs in the last two innings to knock off the Olympia Athletics 8-4. Camacho, Shota and Colin McCusker (Pacific University, Timberline HS) each had a pair of hits for the Silvers. Chris Strain (Occidental College) went 3-for-3 for the A’s.

The Hawks Prairie Cardinals broke open a 2-1 game scoring nine runs in the top of the fifth inning in a rain shortened 11-1 win over the Lacey Saints. Jack Freeman (Saint Martin’s) had three hits and scored three times, Jake Ayers (University of Redlands) drove in three runs and Brandon Grimsley (Murray State College) and Cole Nagamine (Hawaii-Hilo) collected two RBIs for the Cards.

Tyler Hiles’ (Grays Harbor College) two run walk-off single capped off a five run comeback to give the Hawks Prairie Cardinals a 5-4 win over the Lacey Saints. The Cardinals strung together four straight singles in the final inning to score three runs to take home the victory. Colin Lang (Hawaii-Hilo) walked and scored in the seventh and singled in a run in the eighth.
Cameron Steffey (Green River CC) gave up just two hits in 6 1/3 scoreless innings and David Tillotson (Centralia College) collected two hits and an RBI for the Saints.

The Olympia Athletics scored 18 runs in just five innings in their 18-4 win over the Nisqually Silvers. Ned Jones (Yakima CC) went 3-for-4 with three runs and three RBIs, Tyler Watkins (Spokane Falls) singled, walked and was hit by a pitch twice and scored all four times he reached base and JJ Nazzaro (Gardner-Webb) went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a pair of runs scored.

Sam Shadle (Pierce College) gave up just two hits and struck out five over 5 2/3 scoreless innings and the West Olympia Linx ran past the Tumwater Brewers 9-0 in the nightcap. Ryan Snider (Oregon Tech) and Keegan Duz-Aguilar (Centralia College) allowed just one base runner over the final 3 1/3 innings to preserve the shutout. Ryan Atkinson (Columbia Basin) collected three hits including a pair of doubles and drove in three runs and Ben Krueger (Oregon Tech) drove in three runs of his own for the Linx.

International Basketball League
Olympia Reign 128, Nippon Tornadoes 115
Mike Ward scored 37 points and pulled down eight rebounds and the Olympia Reign finished their abbreviated 2013 season with a perfect record (2-0) with a 128-115 comeback win over the Nippon Tornadoes at the SPSCC gymnasium.
The Reign trailed by 12 points at halftime but outscored the Tornadoes 41-27 in the third to take a 96-94 lead into the fourth. Olympia continued their hot second half putting up another 32 points in the final quarter and held on for the 13 point victory.
Virgil Matthews and Patrick Lewis scored 25 and 22 points respectively and Giovonne Woods came close to a triple-double with 12 points, 14 assists and eight rebounds. Antonio McClinon led the Reign with 11 boards.

The Nisqually Silvers put a five spot on the board in the first inning and added runs in the fifth and seventh inning to hold off the Tumwater Brewers 7-5 in game one at The RAC. Naoki Imeto (Olympic College), Travis Shaw (Saint Martin’s) and Colby Fitzgerald (Bellevue University) each collected two hits and Shaw scored three times and Imeto drove in a pair of runs.
Spencer Dodd (Saint Martin’s) went 3-for-3 with two runs scored and Tanner Marty (Lower Columbia CC) added a two hits for the Brewers.

Oly Rollers Relay for Life benefit bout – Skateland! – 6:00 PM
The Oly Rollers host an intersquad bout tonight to benefit the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life. Tickets are just $5 or by donation and they will have a load of items to auction off with all money raised going to Relay for Life. Items available for auction include Team USA Derby jerseys, Oly Rollers Cosa Barbie dolls, Oly Rollers photo book from their awesome team photographer Joe Rollerfan and more from various sponsors and supporters. Doors open tonight at 6:00 PM with derby action getting underway at 6:30 PM.

Olympia Reign vs. Nippon Tornadoes – SPSCC gymnasium – 7:00 PM
Not interested in game seven of the NBA finals? Well, the Olympia Reign wrap up their 2013 season, all of two games since they are considered a “branding team” that is still alive but looking for new sponsors and ownership, tonight at SPSCC against the Nippon Tornadoes. The Reign knocked off the Tornadoes last week 161-117 behind Nate Menefee’s 45 points, 12 rebounds and 11 assists and Mike Ward’s 25 points, nine rebounds and 14 assists. The Reign roster for tonight includes a host of former Evergreen Geoducks including Menefee and Ward and former Saint Martin’s star Blake Poole, who is currently a member of the Bellingham Slam and is averaging 18 points and 11 boards.

The Olympia Athletics put up five runs in the first three innings but couldn’t hold the lead giving up nine unanswered runs in the Hawks Prairie Cardinals‘ 9-5 win in game one of a doubleheader at The RAC.
Grant Pierotti (Cuesta College) walked with the bases loaded in the in the fourth inning and singled in a pair of runs in the sixth to lead the Cardinals. Zach Scott (Whitworth) and Ryan Wilmes (PLU) each drove in two runs and Colin Lang (Hawaii-Hilo) reached base in all four plate appearances going 3-for-3 with a walk and a run scored.
Andrew Lauritzen (Edgewood College) collected two hits and Kameron Banister drove in a run and scored twice in a losing effort for the A’s.

Colby Fitzgerald went 3-for-5 with two RBI singles and a three run home run (Bellevue University) in the Nisqually Silvers’ 13-7 win over the Lacey Saints in game one of a PSCL doubleheader at The RAC. The Silvers pounded out 14 hits with Motoki Kawashima (Merced College), Jeremy Camacho (River Ridge HS) and Travis Shaw (Saint Martin’s) each had two hits and Camacho and Shaw each scored three times.
The Saints collected 12 hits themselves including eight straight hits to open the game in a six run first inning. They got one more run in the seventh inning before Josiah Julagay (Timberline HS), Naoki Imeto (Olympic College) and Taylor Parks (Olympic College) combined to give up just three hits over the next 4 2/3 scoreless innings.
Josh Potter (Campbellsville), Bo Pearson (PLU) and Mervin Rincon (Centralia College) each went 2-for-3 and Jose Acosta (Centralia College) drove in a pair of runs for the Saints.
In game two, Austin Baker (Arkansas State) came a single away from the cycle and Colton Nash hit a two run home run in a 10-5 West Olympia Linx victory over the Hawks Prairie Cardinals. Baker led off the game with a triple, hit a three run home run in the third and doubled in the eighth. Nash’s homer drove home Baker to open the scoring in the first. He drove in two more runs in the second inning to finish with four RBIs total.
Linx starter Reilly Fairchild (Aberdeen HS) gave up three runs in the first inning but settled down and struck out seven in eight innings giving up just two more runs in the seventh. Kegan Duz-Aguilar (Centralia College) pitched a one hit ninth to pick up the save.
Brandon Grimsley (Murray State College) went 4-for-5 with a pair of RBIs for the Cardinals.
