Matt Merchant’s penalty kick goal in the sixth minute proved to be the game winner as #4 Seattle Pacific survived a barrage in the final ten minutes of play to hold off a game Saint Martin’s squad, 1-0.

Kyle Witzel had an opportunity in the 85th minute to draw the Saints level and worked hard to get himself two shots, the second of which just barely missed, banging off the crossbar and rebounding across the front of the goal. Max Harvey had another shot in the 87th minute but the Saints were not able to finish and dropped their GNAC opener and fell to 1-3-1 overall.

Nick Rosato made four saves in goal for the Saints, who were outshot 16-11. Cody Lang made five saves in the shutout for the Falcons, who improved to 5-0.
