Friday Scores: Wolves, Hawks and Geoducks Ladies Win Valentine’s Day

Girls basketball

BH leader: Nicole Nurmi – 12 points

Nicole Nurmi scored 12 points and Shalya Smothers added 11 and Black Hills advanced to the semis with a 50-38 road win over Hockinson. The Wolves will face EvCo champ WF West on Monday at 7:00 PM in Centralia.

RR leader: Jazzlynn Brewster – 27 points

Jazzlynn Brewster and Makenna Schultz combined to score 50 points as River Ridge breezed past Washougal, 82-55, in their opening game of districts in Lacey. The Hawks advance to the district semis and will face #1 Mark Morris at 6:00 PM at Kelso High School.

Women’s basketball

TESC leader: Sammi Clark – 13 points

The Evergreen women clinched a spot in the playoffs with a hard fought 61-59 win over last place Warner Pacific at the CRC Gymnasium. The Geoducks scored the last four points of the game to take the win. Sadee Jone’s jumper at the 1:46 mark tied it and Sammi Clark scored the game winning basket with 47 seconds left. Sammi Clark led the Geoducks with 13 points, Brittany Gray added 11 and Jones chipped in 10.
