Saint Martin’s 63, Puget Sound 52 – Recap

Chelsea Haskey scored 22 points and hauled in seven rebounds and Jordyn Richardson hit three three pointers in the second half and Saint Martin’s erased a one point deficit at the half to take a 63-52 decision over the University of Puget Sound in an exhibition game at Marcus Pavilion.

Richardson’s three pointer at the 12 minute mark capped off a 22-4 run to open the second half that gave the Saints a 49-32 lead. Haskey scored eight points during the run and Angela Gelhar, Jori Skorpik, Brooke Paulson and Richardson each hit threes in that span.

The Loggers went on a 15-2 run over the next eight minutes and closed the deficit to just four at 51-47 when Erin Stumbaugh hit a three pointer with 6:32 remaining. But Richardson answered with her second three of the half to stretch the lead to seven and gave the Saints an 11 point lead on her third three with 2:52 left to play and the Loggers never threatened again.
