North Thurston alum Joash Brodin takes part in the independent Atlantic League’s All Star Game hosted by the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs tonight at 4:00 PM. Brodin, in his second season with the Long Island Ducks, is hitting .325 with eight home runs, 32 RBIs and has scored 47 runs. This is the third professional all star game that Brodin has played in. He went 0-for-2 in 2010 as a member of the Oakland County Cruisers of the Frontier League and went 4-for-5 with a home run, an RBI and three runs in the Frontier League All Star Game as a member of the London Rippers last season.

Cameron Peck advanced to the championships of the Pacific Northwest Men’s Amateur Championships in Bandon, Oregon. The Timberline grad and former Texas A&M Aggie golfer knocked off Kyle Bowser in the quarterfinals and Carl Jonson in the semifinals and will face Albany, Oregon’s Hans Reimer in a 36 hole final teeing off at 7:30 AM – Link
