Sunday scoreboard: Eugenio shines on Senior Day as Saints clinch GNAC title outright

With a 7-5 win over Central Washington in game one of today’s doubleheader, the Saint Martin’s softball team clinched the GNAC regular season title outright and will head to the conference tournament in Billings, Montana as the #1 seed.
Senior Joselyn Eugenio went 2-for-4 with a two home run in the first inning and an RBI single in the Saints’ four run sixth inning. Sam Munger picked up her 20th win of the season giving up four earned runs in seven innings and went 3-for-4 with three RBI and a pair of runs scored.
In game two, after falling behind 4-3 after the top of the fifth inning, the Saints exploded for nine runs capped off by a three run bomb by Eugenio that gave them an eight run lead and ended the game on the mercy rule. Eugenio, playing in her last game at home, went 3-for-4 with three runs driven in and another pair of runs scored to cap off an outstanding Senior Day.
Lacey McGladrey went 4-for-4 and scored three runs, Munger drove in another three runs and Taviah Jenkins homered to open up the scoring in the fifth. Taylor Bakos picked up her 14th win of the season and the Saints moved to 18-6 in GNAC play and 36-13 overall.

The Saint Martin’s baseball team fell to 4-23 in conference play and 6-38 overall with a 9-2 and an 18-0 loss to Western Oregon in Monmouth, Oregon.
