Down two sets to Lewis & Clark, Evergreen, looking for their first win since 2010, came storming back to take the next two sets before falling in the final set of the Red Lion Evergreen Invitational. Cassidy Watkins had 27 kills for the Geoducks in the loss.

Women’s soccer

Evergreen 1, George Fox 1 – OTMore from the Geoducks

Evergreen’s Rayna Murphy scored the equalizer in the 87th minute and the Geoducks escaped Newberg, Oregon with 1-1 draw with George Fox University. Kaitlin MacKenzie made five saves in goal for the Geoducks.

Everett 2, SPSCC 1

Metro State scored two goals in the first six minutes of play to knock off Saint Martin’s 4-1 in Denver on Saturday afternoon. The Roadrunners went up 3-1 in the 34th minute before the Saints finally got on the board before the end of the first half on CJ Chu’s first goal of the season.

Juan Loza gave South Puget Sound a 1-0 lead in the 16th minute of their home opener at the RAC but Everett scored two goals in the second half including the game winner in the 78th minute to knock off the Clippers 2-1.

High school volleyball

Tumwater dropped just one set all day and beat Auburn Riverside 2-0 to win the Adidas Puget Sound Invitational championship at Auburn Mountainview High School.

Logan Cox scored two goals in Capital’s 2-1 win over Bremerton in Bremerton.
