3A West Central/SW Bi-District championship
Lincoln 52, Timberline 51
Tied at 51 at the ShoWare Center in Kent, Colorado bound Tre’Shaun Fletcher hit one of two free throws to give Lincoln a 52-51 lead. Timberline took the rebound on the missed free throw, brought the ball over half court and called timeout with 9.2 seconds. Down by one in this back and forth battle, the Blazers would have the last opportunity to win the district title…
Sophomore point guard Brandel Evans had Donaven Dorsey open on a back cut but Evans lost the handle, had to track the ball down and had the last second desperation shot blocked by Fletcher and the Abes would hold on to claim the West Central/Southwest Bi-District championship and the #1 seed into the regionals.
Dorsey scored a game high 25 points while Evans added 12 for the Blazers, who have won eight of their last ten games including a loser out game in the opening round of the districts and two upsets over Lakes and Foss to get to the final game. Timberline will claim the #2 seed and will face Mercer Island on Saturday at Mount Tahoma High School. Tip is set for 4:00 PM.
Fletcher scored 21 points for the Abes and Cal commit Ahmaad Rorie added 13. The Abes will play Columbia River on Saturday, also at Mount Tahoma.
