Timberline 52, Foss 48
Timberline’s Cinderella run continued on Saturday night with their 52-48 upset of Foss. Donaven Dorsey scored 16 points including 10 points in the fourth quarter. Dezymyn Trent scored 29 points for the Falcons in the loss. The Blazers will take on Lincoln on Monday at the ShoWare Center for the district title. Both teams have already qualified for the regionals. Tip-off is scheduled for 4:00 PM.
2A District IV consolation
Washougal 74, Capital 67
Capital’s season comes to an end with their 74-67 loss to Washougal at Mark Morris High School in Longview.

Centralia 73, Black Hills 62
Jazzlyn Brewster scored 18 points to keep River Ridge’s season alive with a 48-35 win over Hockinson. The Hawks will take on Centralia in a loser out/winner to regionals game on Tuesday night following the Tigers’ victory 73-62 win over Black Hills. Sydney Sauls scored 16 points and Hope Mortensen added 15 points for the Wolves in the loss.

Grays Harbor 103, SPSCC 97 – Box score
Roger O’Neill scored 24 points and Rei Jensen added 13 in Saint Martin’s 80-60 win over Simon Fraser in Burnaby, British Columbia. Will Bond and Eric Taylor each scored 11 points and Brady Bomber dished out eight assists.
Evergreen wrapped up their season with an 89-63 loss to Northwest University. Cody Peters scored 15 points off the bench and senior Elzie Dickens scored 10 in his last game as a Geoduck. Evergreen finishes the season at 2-24 and are 3-50 over the last two seasons.
Scotty Ewing scored 29 points, Jamey Smith added 21 points and 12 boards and Kole Podowicz chipped in 19 but Grays Harbor outran South Puget Sound 103-97.

Chelsea Haskey scored 18 points and MacKenzie Taylor added 15 points, all in the first half, to lead Saint Martin’s to a 58-53 win over Western Oregon at Marcus Pavilion. The Saints’ continued to play outstanding defense forcing the Wolves into 27 turnovers and held Western’s two leading scorers to just 13 points.
With a 55-47 win over Northwest in Kirkland, Evergreen qualified for the playoffs for the second straight season. Danielle Swain scored 14 points and pulled down 12 boards and Jessica Denmon posted a double-double of her own with 10 and 10. With the win, Evergreen moved into the #6 seed in the CCC playoffs and will travel to Klamath Falls to take on Oregon Tech on Tuesday night at 7:00 PM.
Stephanee Stedham and McKenzie Raben combined for 28 points, unfortunately the rest of the Clippers could only manage five points in South Puget Sound’s 59-33 loss to Grays Harbor in Aberdeen.

Tahoma 68, Olympia 57
Olympia’s Brendan Leonard scored 19 points and Alex Johnson added 13 but Tahoma pulled away in the fourth quarter for a 68-57 win in Kent. Olympia drops into the consolation bracket and will face Union at Curtis High School in Tacoma on Friday night.
3A West Central/SW Bi-District
Timberline 53, Auburn Mountainview 40
Timberline kept their season alive with a 53-40 win over Auburn Mountainview at Franklin Pierce High School. Donaven Dorsey led the Blazers with 17 points and Elijah Sanders added 11. Timberline moves on to face Lakes on Friday night at Franklin Pierce.
2A District IV
River Ridge 46, WF West 39
Mark Morris 70, Capital 58
Washougal 59, Tumwater 52
With a trip to the District IV title game on the line, River Ridge and WF West were tied at 35 after three quarters. But the Bearcats went cold in the fourth and the Hawks left Centralia with a 46-39 win and will defend their District title on Friday night at Saint Martin’s. Brad Wallace scored 24 points in the win in while Brock Wade put up 27 for the Bearcats.
Keenan Williams scored 18 points for Capital but after a close first quarter, Mark Morris took control to take a 70-58 decision to move into the District title game. Jared Eidenmuller added 14 points for the Cougars who drop into the consolation bracket and will face a loser out game against Washougal on Saturday night in Longview.
Despite 15 points from David Cooper, Tumwater’s season came to an end with a 59-52 loss to Washougal.
Men’s basketball
Tacoma 76, SPSCC 69 – Box score
AJ Fuller scored 18 points and Scotty Ewing added 14 points in South Puget Sound’s 76-69 loss to Tacoma. The Titans shot a blistering 64% in the second half to pull away from the Clippers.
Women’s basketball
Tacoma 70, SPSCC 29 – Box score
Both McKenzie Raben and Kaneetah Pridgen notched double-doubles for South Puget Sound. Raben scored 10 points and pulled down 12 boards while Pridgen scored 12 points and grabbed 12 rebounds. But the rest of the Clippers scored just seven points and they fell to Tacoma 70-29.

The Dropkick Donnas led from wire to wire knocking off Bellingham’s Blunt Force Trauma 359-208 to kick off the Oly Rollers’ 2013 season at Skateland!
The bout was slowed down considerably by the the two teams and on-track officials as they seemed to be trying to adapt to new rule changes implemented by the WFTDA for this season.

Today (2/10): Oly Rollers morning bout; Saints baseball doubleheader

The Oly Rollers open their 2013 season this morning when the Dropkick Donnas face off against the Bellingham Roller Betties’ Blunt Force Trauma.
Doors at Skateland! open at 10:30 AM and derby action gets underway at 11:00. Tickets are $15 at the door, children eight and under get in free.
Across town at The RAC, the Saint Martin’s baseball team continues their series against UPS with a doubleheader starting at 11:00 AM. The Saints lost their home opener to the Loggers yesterday, 12-0.

Baseball season is upon us in early February and it looks like the weather will cooperate. Today, Saint Martin’s makes their home debut after dropping their opening series at Cal Poly Pomona last week.

Saint Martin’s faces a critical test tonight with Central Washington in town. The Saints offense has been virtually non-existent in the last two games and as a result, they have fallen out of a playoff spot currently sitting in seventh place at 4-8. Central sits right behind them in eighth at 3-8.
It’s senior night at Evergreen and the Geoducks will honor four players wrapping up their careers before tonight’s game against Southern Oregon. Seniors Jessica Edge and Dela Jones will be joined by juniors Maddie Graves and Danielle Swain, both of whom are graduating and moving on with a year of eligibility remaining.

Saint Martin’s upset Alaska Anchorage on Thursday, can they pull off another Alaska upset tonight when they face the Nanooks? Fairbanks sits in a tie for third place in the GNAC at 7-5 while the Saints win got them back into the hunt for the final playoff spot. They currently sit in eighth place at 3-8.
Travis Wagner and Elzie Dickens will play their last game at Evergreen tonight when the Geoducks host #24 ranked Southern Oregon. The two seniors were the only returners from last season’s one win team.
Premier Arena Soccer League
Tumwater Pioneers vs. Oregon Blacktails – Tumwater Indoor Sports – 7:00 PM
The Tumwater Pioneers wrap up the home schedule of their inaugural season still in search of their first win. After a tough stretch that saw them take on the top two teams in the league three times, the Pios host fellow expansion team Oregon tonight. The Blacktails sit at 2-5 and have lost four straight games, their last win coming against the Pios in December. Tickets are just $5 for adults.
