Zack Larsen (Saint Martin’s) reached base five times and drove in four runs on three singles to lead the West Olympia Linx to a 7-6 win over the Olympia Athletics in the first game of a PSCL triple-header at The RAC. CJ Bader (Freed Hardeman), Reilly Fairchild (Aberdeen HS) and Austin Baker (Arkansas State) each scored twice and Ryan Atkinson (Columbia Basin) drove in a run in both the fourth and fifth innings when the Linx built their lead to 7-3 through five innings.
JJ Nazzaro (Gardner-Webb) tripled to drive in a pair of runs for the A’s in the sixth inning to cut the Linx lead to two runs. Joe Crunkilton (Western Nevada) doubled with one out in the seventh inning and was driven in by Sho Nakahama (Olympic College) to cut the Linx lead to 7-6. Nakahama advanced to third but Kegan Duz-Aguilar (Centralia College) got Sam Bisson (Dickinson State) to fly out to center to end the game.

Robby Campos (Olympic College) gave up two hits and struck out six batters in four innings as four Tumwater Brewers pitchers combined to give up just five hits in their 4-2 win over the Lacey Saints in game two at The RAC.
Kevin Afflerbach (Edmonds CC) allowed two base runners in his two innings of relief work for the Brewers and Nick Mailhot (Saint Martin’s, Northwest Christian HS) worked a scoreless seventh before getting into trouble in the eighth inning. Bo Pearson (Pacific Lutheran) tripled and following a walk to Josh Potter (Campbellsville), scored on a single by Jose Acosta (Centralia) to cut the lead to 4-2. Josh Sontag (Saint Martin’s) relieved Mailhot and promptly gave up a single to load the bases but struck out the next two batters and got the final out on a pop up to the first baseman to secure the victory.
Drew Fosnes (Montana State-Billings) went 3-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI and Elias Sablan (Olympic College) and Tyler LaDue (Saint Martin’s) each collected two hits for the Brewers.

FIREWORKS! Oh boy, if you haven’t had your fill of explosions, South Sound Speedway is the place for you. Their fireworks have always been an adventure over the years but the last fireworks show I saw there was outstanding.
And don’t forget the racing. Super late models, mini stocks, hobby stocks and super 4’s hit “the fastest 3/8ths mile on the West Coast” tonight.

Cameron Steffey (Green River CC) gave up two earned runs over five innings and CJ Bader (Freed-Hardeman) and Devin Ferguson (Bellevue University) each drove in a pair of runs in a 10-3 Lacey Saints victory over the Tumwater Brewers on Tuesday night. Josh Potter (Campbellsville) collected two hits including a triple, an RBI and two runs scored.

Four Nisqually Silvers pitchers held the Hawks Prairie Cardinals to just one earned run and RBI singles in the second inning by Jens Omdal (Houghton College, River Ridge HS) and Drew Madsen (Olympic College) is all the Silvers would need in a 4-1 win. Taichi Sasahi got the start and gave up just one hit over three innings for the Silvers. Travis Klimper (Centralia College) gave up the lone run in his 2 2/3 innings of relief and Elijah Fulton (Clark College, Capital HS) and Brad Banker (Saint Martin’s) allowed just one hit over the final 3 1/3 innings.

The Thurston County Senators knocked off the Trail Orioles 2-1 in another extra innings affair to move into the championship game of the Canada Day Blast in Kelowna, British Columbia. The Senators then lost a close one to the Seattle Studs, 5-4, to take second place in the tournament, their third second place finish in four years at the tournament.
The Hawks Prairie Cardinals sent 19 men to the plate in a wild 16 run fourth inning and trounced the Nisqually Silvers 19-4 in a shortened five inning game. All but two players in the Cardinals lineup scored twice in the inning. Jonathan Chodzko (Cuesta College) hit a two run homer and Jake Ayers (University of Redlands) and Jack Freeman (Saint Martin’s) each collected two run singles and added another RBI in their second at-bat in the inning. Bradley Bearden (Chemeketa College, Shelton HS) and Kenzy Forler (Tacoma CC, Capital HS) combined to give up just five hits to the Silvers.
The Olympia Athletics had their own big inning putting six runs on the board in the first en route to a 7-6 win over the West Olympia Linx. Tyler Watkins tripled to lead off the inning and the Linx fell apart hitting a batter, walking two and committing two errors in the inning. Rudy Leon (Spokane Falls) singled in one more run in the second inning to give the A’s a 7-2 lead. The Linx chipped away and made a game of it but couldn’t quite get over the hump in a seven inning game.

The Puget Sound Collegiate League continues on Tuesday evening with games between the winless Lacey Saints (0-12) and the fourth place Olympia Athletics (5-8) in game one and a battle between the two top teams in the league, the West Olympia Linx (10-2) and the Nisqually Silvers (9-3), in the nightcap.

Nick Schultz (Centralia College) scored the game winning run in the bottom of the ninth inning to give the West Olympia Linx a 4-3 win over the Tumwater Brewers. Schultz went 3-for-4, drove in a run and scored twice and Jake Ross (Tacoma CC) collected two hits in the win.

Jeremy Camacho (River Ridge HS) singled in the game tying run and Kano Shota (Olympic College) doubled in the eventual game winner minutes later as the Nisqually Silvers scored five runs in the last two innings to knock off the Olympia Athletics 8-4. Camacho, Shota and Colin McCusker (Pacific University, Timberline HS) each had a pair of hits for the Silvers. Chris Strain (Occidental College) went 3-for-3 for the A’s.

The Hawks Prairie Cardinals broke open a 2-1 game scoring nine runs in the top of the fifth inning in a rain shortened 11-1 win over the Lacey Saints. Jack Freeman (Saint Martin’s) had three hits and scored three times, Jake Ayers (University of Redlands) drove in three runs and Brandon Grimsley (Murray State College) and Cole Nagamine (Hawaii-Hilo) collected two RBIs for the Cards.
