Capital’s Jason Monda goes to the Phillies in the 6th round

mondajason2011action-15.0_standard_709.0
Capital High School alum and current Washington State junior outfielder Jason Monda was drafted in the sixth round with the 181st pick by the Philadelphia Phillies. Monda hit .294 with seven home runs for the Cougs this season and spent the 2012 summer wood-bat season with the Brewster Whitecaps of the Cape Cod League.

Here is what the Twitter-verse is saying about the Monda pick…

Here is what MLB.com says about Monda…

“Monda is a projectable college outfielder who hits for average and should add power down the line. Monda, out of Washington State, has shown that he can handle center but might have to move to a corner as he fills out, a place where his glove could be plus. He has average speed on the basepaths but possesses great instincts that allow his speed to play up. If Monda can add power, then he could become a solid everyday player in the Majors.”

Now the question is, will he sign or return to Washington State for his senior season?
