Friday Scores: Great Night for Area Football; Geoducks Victorious in CCC Opener

Shelton 35, North Mason 21
Junior Tyler Giraldes went 14-for-19 with 204 yards passing and three touchdowns in his first start to lead Shelton to a 35-21 Mason County Cup win over North Mason in Belfair.
Giraldes hit Kyle Kimball on the second play of the game for a 42 yard strike and later found Skyler Ross for a 24 yard TD toss near the end of the first half. He added a 13 yard touchdown to a twisting and turning Willy Ruiz on the first play of the fourth quarter to put the Highclimbers up 35-14.
Colton Paller’s 45 yard run on the second play of the second half opened up a 28-7 lead for the Highclimbers. Paller finished with 76 yards rushing and Ruiz added 65 yards as the Highclimbers racked up 190 yards on the ground. Tanner Rhodes added a two yard rushing touchdown in the second quarter.
Sophomore QB Preston Poulton did most of the damage for North Mason with a touchdown run of 57 yards on 4th-and-2 that got the Bulldogs to within seven points at 14-7. He scored his second rushing touchdown, this time from 17 yards out to pull with in 14 points at 28-14 in the third quarter. Poulton finished with 114 yards rushing.

Evergreen 3, Multnomah 0 (25-21, 25-16, 25-13) – Box Score
Evergreen got the Cascade Conference season off to a nice start with a three set sweep of brand new CCC member Multnomah in Portland. Natalie Taylor and Jorden Porter led the way for the Geoducks with 13 and 12 kills respectively.
