Football is back and you know what that means: my daughters are here to give you their high level, deeply analyzed and nuanced picks of this week’s game. They are now seven and four years-old and better than ever. You can take these predictions to the bank.
Here is the full high school football schedule for week one, complete with radio and webcast links.
——————
River Ridge vs. Aberdeen
South Sound Stadium – Thursday, 7:00 PM | Radio: KXRO
Addie: Hawks – “The Hawks can fly and their wings are pretty silent when they are gliding. They can sneak up on the Bobcats and bite them.”
Rory: Bobcats – “But the Bobcats have very sharp teeth! They are cats and we have a kitty cat.”
Black Hills Wolves vs. Montesano Bulldogs
Tumwater Stadium – Friday, 7:00 PM
Addie: Wolves – “Well, they are both dogs but I’ll say Wolves because Bulldogs are really slobbery and have sharp teeth but the Wolves are faster and can be quieter and have sharper teeth.”
Rory: Wolves – “I’ll say the same thing as Addie.”
Tumwater T-Birds @ Capital Cougars
Ingersoll Stadium – Friday, 7:00 PM | Webcast: Eli Sports
Addie: Cougars – “The Cougars can jump really high and they can sorta climb and they can also sneak up on the birds when they are up in a tree.”
Rory: Cougars – “Because there is a capital in Olympia.”
North Thurston Rams @ Timberline Blazers
South Sound Stadium – Friday, 7:00 PM | Webcast: Eli Sports
Addie: Blazers – “Some of them have axes so they can, like, if they are trying to trick them, they can get above them and when they touch them they can escape. I’m not sure what that means.”
Rory: Blazers – “Because they are kind of in Mt. Rainier stuff. They are kind of in trails. And they can go around and ahhhhhhhhh.”
Rainier Mountaineers vs. South Bend Indians
Rainier High School – Friday, 7:00 PM
Addie: Mountaineers – “If there are snowmen on that team, they can roll down the mountain and get covered in snow and then put the other team in a big ball of snow that they are already in.”
Rory: Mountaineers – “Because there is Mt. Rainier in Seattle. So they go into the mountain to the very top, they eat the snow and then they get big and when they get close to the other team, they spit it out at them.”
Rochester Warriors vs. Centralia Tigers
Rochester High School – Friday, 7:00 PM
Rory: Tigers – “Tigers have very sharp teeth and can mostly bite through anything.”
Addie: Tigers – “Yeah, me too.”
Shelton Highclimbers @ North Mason Bulldogs
Phil Pugh Stadium, Belfair – Friday, 7:00 PM | Radio: KMAS
Rory: Highclimbers – “Because they could cut down a tree and it would fall on the other team.”
Addie: Highclimbers – “If they fall, they could land on the other team and ride the Bulldogs.”
Tenino Beavers vs. Charles Wright Tarriers
Tenino Stadium – Friday, 7:00 PM
Addie: Beavers – “If the dogs get close to them, they can cut down a tree with their teeth and it will land on the dog and it will fall down.”
Rory: Beavers – “I think the tree should fall where the dog wants to go and then another Beaver chops down another tree and falls the other way and traps him from going into the forest.”
Yelm Tornadoes @ Steilacoom Sentinels
Steilacoom Stadium – Friday, 7:00 PM
Addie: Tornadoes – “The Tornadoes can go around and around and around faster than anybody else and they can throw them in the ocean.”
Rory: Tornadoes – “They can spin the other team away! To somewhere else!”
Olympia Bears vs. Ferris Saxons
Husky Stadium, Seattle – Saturday, 1:00 PM | Webcast: Eli Sports
Addie: Bears – “They can run faster than humans, probably.”
Rory: Bears – “The speed limit is as fast as a cheetah! BEARS ARE SUPER FAST. And they have very sharp teeth.”
