2A state tournament first round
Tumwater 3, Washington 1 (25-18, 24-26, 25-21, 25-15)
Capital 3, Port Angeles 0 (25-16, 25-13, 25-13)

Both Tumwater and Capital advanced this morning to the quarterfinals of the 2A state tournament at Pierce College. The T-Birds took four sets in the 8:00 AM game to close out Washington while Capital won easily over Port Angeles that included a 14-0 run to start the third set.

Both teams play again at 6:45 PM at Pierce College. The T-Birds will take on Sehome and the Cougars will take on East Valley of Spokane. If they both should win, they will face each other in the semifinals tomorrow at noon.
