Today (3/30): Saints softball hosts NAIA #10 squad; Rams hope to continue amazing week; Budd Bay Rugby
Despite the beautiful weather, it is a light day of sports here in the Olympia area. Just a handful of games on the docket including the streaking Saint Martin’s softball team, North Thurston baseball and Budd Bay Rugby.
The Saint Martin’s softball team looks for their 20th win of the season today when they face the NAIA’s Corban University in doubleheader action at 12:00 PM at the campus softball field. The Saints are 19-9 this season and are coming off a non-conference sweep of the NAIA’s #24 ranked Concordia yesterday. Today they face a #10 ranked Corban squad that is riding a 17 game win streak.
Also at 1:00 PM, the North Thurston baseball squad takes on Sumner in non-conference action. The Rams have had quite the week against the Tacoma schools knocking off Lincoln and Foss by a combined 42-1 allowing just two hits in three games.
And finally, at Rainier Vista Park, a day of rugby kicks off at 10:00 AM with Budd Bay Barbarians and Steelheads youth squad games leading up to the Budd Bay Buffaloes men’s squad game against the Battleground Bulls at 1:45 PM.

Is Thurston that good, or are the Tacoma schools that bad?
A little bit of both. Thurston has really good arms and Foss and Lincoln are the lower tier. Thurston started slow but will probably are hitting their stride now.
