Tonight (2/21): Saints host #5 Seattle Pacific

Just two home games remain in the Saint Martin’s men’s basketball season starting tonight when the Saints take on #5 ranked Seattle Pacific at Marcus Pavilion. Tonight’s game is a “Black Out” and fans are encouraged to wear black and there will be a Harlem Shake video filmed at halftime.

At 4-10 in conference, the Saints still mathematically have a chance to make the GNAC Tournament but they are a long shot. They currently trail Central Washington for sixth place by three games with four games left to play including a matchup with the Wildcats on the final day of the regular season. Roger O’Neill is sixth in the GNAC scoring 15.6 points per game.

Seattle Pacific is 19-3 overall and 12-2 in conference play with both losses coming to #2 ranked Western Washington. The Falcons are led by David Downs’ 14 points per game and 5.5 assists per game while Jobi Wall is second in the NCAA Division II shooting 46.2% from behind the arc. SPU easily handled the Saints in their first meeting, an 82-54 victory at Royal Brougham Pavilion in Seattle.

Tip-off is set for 7:00 PM. If you can’t make it to Marcus Pavilion, you can watch the game and hear me on the call by clicking here.
