Tonight (2/20): Sophomore night at SPSCC

It’s sophomore night at South Puget Sound where the Clipper men and women face Highline in the final home game for seven sophomores.

McKenzie Raben, Sarah Houchen and Renee Willey will all play their last home game for the Clippers when the women tip off at 6:00 PM. Willey and Raben are the Clippers’ leading scorers at 9.9 and 9.5 points per game respectively and are #2 and #1 in rebounding while Houchen has put up 5.9 points per game this season. All three will continue their athletic careers at SPSCC as members of the softball team. The Clippers have struggled mightily going just 2-20 and 1-13 in the NWAACC’s West Region playing the majority of their season with just six or seven players in uniform.

The men haven’t fared much better this season at just 4-19 overall and will see their top four scorers play their final home game tonight at 8:00 PM. Olympia product Jamey Smith (15.35 ppg), Scotty Ewing (14.83 ppg), Timberline’s Kole Podowicz (14.56 ppg) and AJ Fuller (11.74) are all sophomores for the Clippers. Podowicz leads SPSCC in rebounding hauling in 7.19 per game while Ewing leads the team in assists with 3.3 a game.
