Also today (5/8): District baseball all over the place
The high school baseball post season really gets going this afternoon…
The 17-1, 4A Narrows League champion Olympia Bears faces Tahoma at Curtis High School. Tahoma comes into the game at 13-6 overall. The winner of the game gets a spot in the state regional.
In the 3A west central/bi-district tournament, Capital plays a loser-out game against Decatur at 7:00 PM at Heidelberg Park in Tacoma. Decatur finished the regular season at just 3-16 but won two straight elimination games to make it to districts.
North Thurston gets a home game in the first round of the 2A District IV playoffs when they face RA Long. The Rams were 12-6 this season while RA Long comes into the game at 6-11. First pitch is at 4:30 PM.
Tumwater barely made the district tournament and is rewarded with a first round game at #1 seed W.F. West. The Bearcats are 18-1 this season. First pitch is at 4:30 PM and the game can be heard on the Eli Sports Network.
And after a 12-1 loss to Toutle Lake yesterday, Northwest Christian continues 2B District IV playoffs with a loser-out game against Naselle, who lost 7-1 to Morton-White Pass yesterday. The Navigators and Naselle split their season series. Naselle won 10-2 in Lacey on March 22nd while the Navs won 6-5 in Naselle on April 23rd. Game time is at 5:30 PM.
