Wednesday scoreboard: Clippers split at Highline

Men’s basketball

SPSCC 56, Highline 54

Olympia’s Jamey Smith had 17 points and eight rebounds and Black Hill’s Anye Turner had 15 points and 11 rebounds and South Puget Sound held on to beat Highline 56-54 in Des Moines. Deshawn Hayes added 14 points for the Clippers while the Thunderbirds were led by Nikosi Ali’s 18 points and 17 rebounds. SPSCC is finishing the season strong. They were beaten by Highline 80-51 on January 25th and have gone 6-3 since.

Women’s basketball

Highline 63, SPSCC 49

South Puget Sound’s three sophomores combined for 40 of their team’s 49 points and the Clippers fell to Highline 63-49 in Des Moines. Alychia Colon led the way with 14 points while Aisha Jones and Monteaka Norwood each had 13 points for SPSCC in the loss. The Clippers shot only 27% with the three sophomores shot 44 of the team’s 55 shots.
