January 30th recap: Capital goes three overtimes, Timberline notches two wins, Oly keeps rolling
First of all, I apologize for not having a couple of these games on the “tonight” post this morning. Still trying to find a reliable source for a schedule. The makeup games are from the snowstorm have made things a little confusing.
Boy’s basketball
Olympia 75, South Kitsap 49
Capital 104, Foss 100 – 3OT
Timberline 61, Yelm 54
Capital and Foss played an epic game on Monday night. The third overtime finally settled it as the Cougars took home an 104-100 victory over Foss. Three players, Karl Peterson (26 points), Keenan Williams (25) and Jaren Eidenmuller (23) combined for 74 of their 104 points. Olympia moved to 9-1 in the 4A Narrows League and are still tied for first place with Bellarmine who beat Gig Harbor 57-48 tonight. And Timberline picked up it’s first conference win on the season.
Girl’s basketball
South Kitsap 64, Olympia 44
Timberline 59, Yelm 49
Foss 42, Capital 37
Timberline got 28 points from Sasha Weber in their 59=49 win in Yelm. The win moves Timberline to 6-1 in the 3A Narrows League one game behind Wilson who beat Lincoln 71-35 tonight. The Blazers play host to Lincoln on Wednesday before traveling to Wilson on Friday with first place possibly on the line.
