Today (3/31): State Title Rematch Set for Tumwater Baseball

Tumwater vs. WF West – Tumwater HS – 4:30 PM

It’s a state title game rematch at Tumwater High School when WF West comes to town to take on the T-Birds at 4:30 PM. It’s a battle of two teams that are undefeated in 2A EvCo play so far. Tumwater sit on top of the conference at 4-0, tied with Centralia, while the Bearcats are a half game back at 3-0.

Friday Score: Boyal’s Goal Leads Oly to Victory

Neil Boyal scored the game’s lone goal in the 48th minute and Davin Johnson and Brandon Pruett combined to secure the shutout in Olympia’s 1-0 win over Stadium in Tacoma on Friday night. The Bears ran their record to 2-2-1 in the 4A Narrows League and 3-2-1 overall.

The Saint Martin’s softball team split a non-conference doubleheader with future GNAC-mates Concordia this afternoon at the SMU Softball Field. Concordia held down the Saints offense in game one to take a 3-1 victory while the Saints had to make a late inning comeback in game two to take a 7-5 win.

Megan Miller and Taviah Jenkins each had a pair of hits and Jackie Schmaeling drove in the lone run in the game one loss. Sam Munger pitched seven innings without an earned run but got the loss after an error in the fifth inning opened the door for three Cavalier runs.

In game two, Concordia opened up a 5-1 lead in the top of the third but the Saints ran off the next six runs including four in the bottom of the sixth inning to bring their record back to .500 at 13-13. Dani Wall doubled in a pair of runs in the third inning and Jenkins and Lacey McGladrey each had RBI base hits in the sixth. Kaylee Lawson went the distance to pick up the win for the Saints.

With the weather like it is and a big band of rain still on the way, the ball and stick games will have a hard time today. Here are the games that will be played and likely will be played thanks to the timing (Saint Martin’s), the somewhat resilient turf fields at The RAC or the ability to play through any crummy weather (soccer). I will update with other games that seem to still be on later.
