Friday scoreboard: Cardinals, Linx win In first round

Hawks Prairie Cardinals 4, Tumwater Brewers 0
West Olympia Linx 1, Nisqually Silvers 0 – 11 innings

Conor Cook (Central Washington) went 2-for-4 with an RBI and Chandler Tracy (Saint Martin’s) hit a solo home run for the Hawks Prairie Cardinals in their 4-0 win over the Tumwater Brewers in the opening round of the PSCL playoffs. The Cardinals, the #4 seed, got 5 1/3 scoreless innings out of Shimpie Sato (Skagit Valley College). Sato gave up just two hits and picked up the win. Eli Fulton (Clark College, Capital HS) got the final two outs to get the save.

With two outs in the bottom of the 11th inning, Zack Larsen’s (Saint Martin’s) single scored Mac Gridley (Lower Columbia CC) and broke a scoreless tie to give the #3 seed West Olympia Linx the 1-0 win over the #6 seed Nisqually Silvers. Both teams received outstanding starts on the mound. Ian Buckles (George Fox University) gave up just three hits and struck out eight over eight scoreless innings for the Silvers while Max Dickinson (Lower Columbia CC) went 8 1/3 scoreless innings for the Linx. Ryan Snyder (Grays Harbor CC) pitched the final 2 2/3 innings and picked up the win.
