Today (7/27): PSCL playoff doubleheader

The Puget Sound Collegiate League playoffs get underway this evening with two games at the RAC. The top two teams got a bye into tomorrow’s second round, so tonight’s game features the #4 seed Tumwater Brewers facing the #5 Hawks Prairie Cardinals in game one and the #3 seed West Olympia Linx and #6 Nisqually Silvers in the nightcap.

The Brewers and Cardinals met five times in the regular season with the Cardinals taking the season series 3-2. But the Brewers were very close in all three of their losses losing by just a combined five runs, 23-18. In the Brewers victories, they outscored the Cards 13-4 in two games including a 6-0 win on June 21st. First pitch for of the playoff is at 5:00 PM.

In game two, the light hitting and last place Nisqually Silvers face the hard hitting West Olympia Linx. The two teams met six times this season with the Linx taking five games including a 7-5 extra inning win on June 23rd. The Silvers lone win came on July 3rd. First pitch in the nightcap is at 7:30 PM.
