Today (5/8): 2A district soccer; Narrows League leaders meet
The postseason is in full swing today, let’s start with the 2A District IV soccer playoffs…
The undefeated and #1 seeded Tumwater T-Birds face Washougal today at Tumwater Stadium. The T-Birds scored four goals in the first six minutes of their opening district game and demolished W.F. West 9-0. Washougal is coming off a 2-1 win over Aberdeen. First kick is at 6:00 PM.
The North Thurston soccer team upset #1 seed Hockinson 3-0 on Saturday and now faces the GSHL #2 seed Mark Morris at Longview Memorial Stadium with a spot at state on the line. Kickoff is at 7:00 PM.
In other soccer action, the top two teams from the 3A Narrows League meet today at Ingersoll Stadium at 7:00 PM. Capital currently sits in first place at 7-0-2 with Wilson hot on their heels at 7-1-1. Wilson, though, has scored the most goals of any Narrows League team by 40 goals. They currently have 65 goals on the season but were limited to just one goal in their 2-1 loss to Capital on April 19th.
